Hon’ble chief guest Sh Ved Praksh Mahawar, GGM and Asset manager ONGC Tripura asset and the Chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee, Smt Meena Mahawar president ONGC Mahila Samiti, respected members of Vidyalaya Management committee, distinguished guests, dignitaries, representative of press and media, respected parents, guardians, members of staff, my dear students, ladies and gentlemen a very good evening to you all.

At the very outset I extend my heartiest welcome to Hon’ble chief guest and distinguished guests and each one of you for your inspiring presence on the occasion of 30th Annual Day celebration 2013 of our Vidyalaya. In the Golden jubilee year of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, I esteem it a privilege to present the brief annual report for the academic session 2013-14 before this distinguished audience highlighting the achievements in various fields, our needs and problems for the period under review.

Sir, this Vidyalaya was set up in this serene, tranquil and beautiful campus of ONGC Agartala in the year 1983 with a meager infrastructure and facility. It has travelled a long way since its inception from the small building to present form. From its infancy to this stage it has grown up and developed to acquire an identity of its own and has gone from strength to strength during last 31 years with active cooperation from the management, parents, guardians and members of the staff and students. Sir, it has been my ambition and dream to create an excellent academic atmosphere in the Vidyalaya in last three years of my tenure at K V ONGC Agartala. Me and my team of dedicated teachers and other supporting staff have put their best effort to ameliorate the overall functioning of the vidyalaya to the satisfaction of all stake holder. But as sky is limit, we have to still go a long way to accomplish our dream, which remains incomplete without due cooperation of students and parents and the management. And today I again earnestly request you all to extend your cooperation to complete this mission.

Education is of paramount importance for all especially in today’s competitive world education has a multifaceted role to play. Apart from pure academic activities, constructive co-scholastic activities can direct enthusiasm of the students to fruitful channels. Keeping this in mind a number of cultural and literary events were conducted during present academic session. These competitions were held on the basis of inter house competition to foster the spirit of healthy competition among the students. We observed a number of memorable days like 15th August, 14th Nov, Teachers Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Earth day, world conservation day, National education Day, Flag day etc as listed by KVS HQ.

In addition to these different educational programme like Science exhibition, Social Science exhibition, Junior maths Olympiad, Green Olympiad, Kishore vaigyanik protshahan  yojana, Drawing and painting competition, national children science congress, Debate & quiz, programmes, RBI quiz  etc were organised to give our students challenging opportunities to excel and show their talents. In this golden jubilee 2013 KVS has selected 10% KVs of each region to establish smart classes in one section of each room. Our vidyalaya has also been equipped with same and now 10 class room of the vidyalaya are equipped with smart class gazettes to be utilized by teachers and students. Few infrastructural facilities are to be provided by ONGC Agartala to expand the infrastructural horizon, a list same has been communicated to Asset during vidyalaya management committee meetings time to time. This year KV student got their new colourful uniform to make their appearance smarter.

Academics

1. Deepawali Goswami topped class-XII Science with 97.6% and secured 1st position in Silchar region and Tripura state. She also received 0.1% merit certificate of CBSE and a scholarship of Rs 80000/- per annum from Deptt of Higher Education, Govt of India under INSIRE scheme for perusing further academic career in pure sciences. KVS has given a cash prize of Rs 5000/- to her.

2. Nayanika Sengupta topped XII-Com stream with 86.4%.

3. Tanusree sutradhar topped Humanities stream with 78.2%.

4. In class-X 2012-13 batch 13 students out of 70 students secured A1 grade.

6. 15 students of our vidylaya got admission in different Engg, Medical and other prestigious professional courses.

 

2.

Sports

1. Nandini Ramchandani (VIII-B) represented Silchar region in badminton U-14 badminton tournament held at Guwahati.

2. Two boys Rohit Datta (VIII-B) and Anurag Nath (IX-A) represented Silchar region in U-16 cricket tournament held at Patiala.

3. At Regional level Sports meet Nandini Ramchandani (VIII-B), Pallavi (VII-B) won gold medal, Vishal Raj (10B) –Silver and Golu Jadav (11A) Bronze medal.

Teachers Training/ Achievement

1.     04 teachers attended in-service refresher courses.

2.     Sh O P Nanda attended a workshop on Inclusive Education at KVS Zonal training centre Bhubeswar.

3.      Sh Raghvendra and Mrs Devika N Datta attended a workshop on cartoon & animation technology at Kolkata by KVS in collaboration with Autodesk India Ltd.

4.     Mrs Raka Chakraborty and Sh Sudip Roy is deputed to attend Assesment of speaking and listening skill in English.

5.     02 teachers attended a workshop on Adolescence Education programme at Silchar conducted by KVS.

Miscellaneous

1. Subhrasanker Bhattacharjee of class-X A was selected to display his project in KVS NCSC  held at KV Bhopal.

2. Anulekha Chakraborty of X-B represented silchar in English debate at K V Gwalior in KVS National level Social science exhibition.

3. Rajat Denath (8A) won 3rd position in KVS Regional Science Exhibition.

4. Devarshi Datta of class-XII represented Silchar region in quiz under Science exhibition 2012-13.

  

Scout- Guide unit, integrity club and other club activities are actively functioning in the vidyalaya to instill the feeling of attachment and duties towards society and are rendering their services to society, needy people as and when required.

Sir, This Vidyalaya being a project KV under sponsorship of ONGC Agartala is getting all support from the ONGC under your able guidance. I am sure that the same sort of cooperation will be extended in future too. There are some issues which have already been discussed but yet to be done by ONGC authorities to make Vidyalaya still richer in infrastructural facilities.

At last, it’s my duty to I take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues from the core of my heart for their cooperation in running the Vidyalaya smoothly. I also express my sincere gratitude to our hon’ble chief guest Sh Ved Prakash Mahawar, Asset Manager, Sh Rajeev Bishnoi in-charge HR-ER and all VMC members for their inspiration and valuable suggestion and timely help.

Sir, it has been my cherished desire and dream to create an excellent academic atmosphere in the Vidyalaya. But this dream remains incomplete without due cooperation of students and parents and the management. And today I again earnestly request you all to extend your cooperation to complete this mission.

Education is of paramount importance for all. Apart from pure academic activities, constructive co-curricular activities can direct enthusiasm of the students to fruitful channels. Keeping this in mind a number of cultural and literary events were conducted during present academic session. These competitions were held on the basis of inter house competition to foster the spirit of healthy competition among the students. In addition to these different educational programme like Science exhibition, Social Science exhibition, Junior maths Olympiad, Green Olympiad, Kishore vaigyanik protshahan  yojana, Drawing and painting competition, national children science congress, Debate & quiz, programmes on National year of Mathematics, RBI quiz  etc were organised to give our students challenging opportunities to excel and show their talents. Next year from Jan 2013 KVS is going to celebrate its Golden Jubilee year. To commemorate this different programme will be carried out throughout the year and KVS has planned to enhance the infrastructural facility in different Kendriya Vidyalayas.

1. Akhil Raj S topped class-XII Science with 94.6% and secured 2nd position in pre-reorganized Silchar region. And now 1st in present Silchar region.

2. Subhajit Roy topped XII-Com stream with 90.2%.

3. Priya Sinha topped Humanities stream with 80.8%.

4. Akhil Raj received 1% excellence merit certificate of CBSE and assistance of Rs 80000/- from Deptt Higher Education of India under INSIRE scheme for perusing further academic career in pure sciences.

5. 07 students out of 68 students (Uma Das, Devarshi Datta, Reshmi Podder, Anirban Chaudhri, Ema Debbarma, Aditya Majumder, Sayantika Nath) in class-X secured A1 grade in class-X

6. 16 students of our vidylaya got admission in different Engg, Medical and other professional courses.

Sports

1. Niharika Gupta (IX-A) and Tanushree (XI-Hum) represented Silchar region in U-19 Kho-Kho KVS National Sports meet at Pune.

2. Two boys Shubham Roy X-B and Arnab Dey X-B represented Silchar region in U-19 T.T KVS National Sports meet at Lucknow

3. Three Boys participated in U-16 Cricket KVS National Sports meet at Lucknow.

4. 01 student Anirban Dey of class-V won gold medal in T.T at state level and represented Tripura State.

Cultural

Different cultural programme under CCA of Primary and secondary section were conducted throughout the year. Our students participate actively in cultural programme held on 15th Aug/26th Jan, ONGC Foundation Day etc. 

One student Pritam Ghosh Adhikari VIII-A has performed guitar at All India radio.

Sayantika Bhattacharjee won 2nd position in Tripura state Solo Song competition organized by sur tal orchestra.

Teachers

Mrs Devika Naug Datta TGT (WE) is honoured with KVS Regional Incentive Award 2012.

 

5.

Miscellaneous

1. One student Akash Deb of class-VI –A won gold medal in All India Painting Competition held at Hyderabad and Purba Debnath begged 1st position in state level drawing competition.

2. 10 students of scout guide wing participated and successfully completed 10 days adventure activity at Pachmari wef  23 Sep 2012 to 02 October

  

To instil the feeling of attachment and duties towards society the students are encouraged to participate in helpage India movement and smile foundation. Scouting Guiding unit is actively functioning in the vidyalaya and is rendering their services to society, needy people as and when required.

Sir, This Vidyalaya being a project KV under sponsorship of ONGC Agartala is getting all support from the ONGC under your able guidance. I am sure that the same sort of cooperation will be extended in future too. There are some issues which have already been discussed but yet to be done by ONGC authorities to make Vidyalaya still richer in infrastructural facilities.

Before I conclude, I take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues from the core of my heart for their cooperation in running the Vidyalaya smoothly. This year 05 students of our Vidyalaya secured Ist position in KVS National Social science exhibition in skit held at KV Aliganj Lucknow, 03 students represented Silchar in KVS National children science congress held at KV No-1 Jaipur.

In games & sports also our performance is praiseworthy. 01 student in basketball, 01 in cricket,  03 in T.T and 03 girls in Kho-Kho, 01 girl in shot put and 01 girl and 01 boy in Badminton represented Silchar region in KVS National Sports meet held at Chandigarh region and Delhi region. At regional level our student begged gold medal in shot put, bronze medal in Badminton, Silver medal in long jump. We celebrated our 29th Annual sports Day on 18th April 2011.

In board examination 2011 our result in class X was 100%, 05 students Deepawali Goswami, Poulomi Sen, Saibal Barman, Devleena Paul and Kushmita Chakraborty secured CGPA 10 out of 10. In class XII science result was 96.42% (Rahul Ranjan topped with 92.8% and secured 2nd position in Silchar region), in commerce result was 88% (Jemi Barman topped) and in Humanities result was 93.1%. (S Manisha Das topper). This year 15 students were selected in NIT Agartala and various engg colleges. One student is selected in NDA.

Scout & Guide activities are also being organised in the Vidyalaya in true spirit. 07 students of this vidyalaya received Rajya Purusakar award and Sh D Chakraborty received incentive award 2011 for his contribution in scout & Guide activities. For students of primary wing numbers of activities were performed under common minimum programme. Local trips to Bank, Post office, railway station have been arranged as a regular feature of CMP.  Medical check- up of students by a team of ONGC doctor, NAEP counselling programme have also been conducted.

 

 

 

This year our Vidyalaya was visited by the Commissioner, KVS HQ New Delhi in the month of July. He appreciated the functioning of the Vidyalaya. 10 ten teachers of this Vidyalaya attended in-service course organised by KVS at different venues across the country to enhance their professional competencies and update their subject knowledge.

Sir, This Vidyalaya being a project KV under sponsorship of ONGC Agartala is getting all support from the ONGC under your able guidance. I am sure that the same sort of cooperation will be extended in future too. There are some issues which have already been discussed but yet to be done by ONGC authorities to make Vidyalaya still richer in infrastructural facilities. The demand of 15- B type quarters for teachers and other staff type is still pending.

Before I conclude, I take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues from the core of my heart for their cooperation in running the Vidyalaya smoothly.
